Since its opening in 2010, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter has seen incredible popularity. It has given so many fans of the films around the world exactly what they were waiting for, a chance to relive the movie for themselves. The opening of the attraction saw overall entries to park up by 20%, proving the popularity of the attraction. But what can visitors expect to see in the Wizarding world of Harry Potter? Here are just a few of the main attractions you definitely will not want to miss.
Dragon Challenge
The Dragon challenge features two parallel rollercoaster's that wrap around and intertwine with each other, only just missing each other as they hurtle past as ferocious speeds. Climb aboard either the 'Hungarian Horntial' or the 'Chinese Fireball' and set off on a thrilling speed ride that remains the only chasing inverted rollercoaster in the world. The area around the ride sets the scene of the Triwizard tournament, an event seen in 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire'. The queue complete with Harry Potter relics such as the Triwizard cup and the original Goblet of Fire.
Flight of the Hippogriff
After the guaranteed fright from Dragon challenge, the flight of the Hippogriff is a slower and more relaxed ride, depicting the scene where Rubeus Hagrid attempts to teach the wizard how to ride the giant Hippogriff correctly. Let Hagrid attempt to teach you as he takes you on a journey through the magical forest, spiralling down around the pumpkin patch and past Hagrid's hut.
Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey
This is the chance to explore the magical lair of Hogwarts itself. Take your self on a journey through Hogwarts, entering through the colossal front gates, exploring the familiar passageways used in the films. Visit all the memorable locations on your voyage, such as Dumbledore's office, the Gryffindor common room, the Defence against the Dark Arts classroom and many more. It's then time to explore the grounds, encountering a frightening horde of dementors, observing a quidditch match and even meeting the Whomping willow.
The Three Broomsticks
After all that excitement, you will be sure to have burning appetite. If so head down to the Three Broomsticks, a restaurant based on the inn from the series. Here you can sample all memorable food and drinks from the films, such as Butterbeer, pumpkin juice and even strawberry-peanut ice cream. Tasty treats all round.
